1. What we collect
What you send us: name, email address, phone number, and the details of your enquiry — tour, dates, group size, where you are travelling from, target species, experience, fitness, and any dietary or mobility needs. All optional except a name and an email address.
What is collected as you browse: pages viewed, how you move through them, approximate location, device and browser, and IP address. This comes from analytics tools and from our host's server logs.
2. Why
To answer your enquiry and plan your trip. To run the site and understand how it is used. To send you news about our trips, if you have agreed to that. To measure and improve our own advertising.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and comparable browser storage for three purposes: keeping the site working, measuring how it is used, and measuring or targeting our advertising.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask before setting anything beyond what is strictly necessary, and nothing optional loads until you agree. Elsewhere they load with the page. Your choice is stored in your browser and we ask again after a year. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time.
4. Who receives it
We use service providers in the following categories: website hosting, form and email delivery, email marketing, analytics, advertising and social media platforms, payment processing, and embedded media such as video and maps.
These currently include GitHub, Formspree, Hostinger and Microsoft. Providers change; the categories above describe what any replacement would be used for.
All are outside Mexico, mostly in the United States, so your data is transferred internationally. Each has its own privacy policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
5. Embedded content
Some pages include content hosted elsewhere, such as video or maps. Where we can, it loads only when you interact with it. Once it loads, that provider receives your request as if you had visited their site directly.
6. Marketing email
If you have agreed to it, we may email you about our trips, new routes and trip reports. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
7. How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept as a record of what was agreed. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for the provider's own retention period.
8. Your rights
You may request access to your data, correction, deletion, or that we stop using it. Contact info@cardellina.com.
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you may also complain to your national data protection authority. California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA. We are subject to Mexico's Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
Changes are posted here with a revised effective date.
